SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL.
A time to share together with food, music, dance and fellowship
St Andrew's has got talent!!! Well, we think we proved it!
Here are a few Photographs from our Charity Concert and a total of Six Hundred and Seventy Pounds was raised for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance
Sunday 22nd May saw the 140th Anniversary of the founding of St. Andrew's on our current site on London Road, by the Royal Berks Hospital.
Revd. Richard Church, URC Deputy General Secretary conducted our morning worship and which was joined by representatives from Local Churches.
Captain Harrie Welmer and his wife Inge representing the Embassy of the Kingdom of the the Netherlands was also present together with past members from all part of the UK.
As a small token of our thanks, a Celtic Quaich, a two handed pewter friendship cup was presented to Revd Church.
Last year, some sixty members from our three churches gathered together for our first Group Pastorate SUMMER TEA and PRAISE worship on Sunday 5th July at Tilehurst URC.
This year the event is in St Andrew's and is a good opportunity to meet with and share tea, savouries and cakes and just have a chat with old and new friends.
What a superb evening as 108 of us met in the Calcot Hotel, Reading to enjoy an evening of excellent food, great company as we met with friends old and new.
Our DJ played a great selection of music and even managed to find the music for 'Strip the Willow,' a wild Scottish Dance that we only just survived.
The old time ballroom steps were also evident although perhaps not up to the standards of 'Strictly Come Dancing.' But we did have a really good time.
Thanks to everyone at the Calcot Hotel for helping make our evening, so Very Special.
For our young people and their friends,
an afternoon of Music - Rhythm - Excitement
Very Noisy and Great Fun.
